Thailand: Bangkok

Going on a two-week trip overseas doesn’t really give you enough time to fully relax into travel mode, but it does give you a taste of the culture and lifestyle. And it’s this total immersion in something “new” and different that gave me a fresh perspective on my own life and the routines that I have become used to.

From experience, what I do know is that trying to squeeze in a sight-seeing marathon is not worth it. That’s why, on the trip that Alex and I embarked on during September, we didn’t cram in a million “must-see” destinations and tire ourselves out with endless cramped bus trips and hanging around in airports. Instead we decided to stay in Bangkok  for two nights in total and spend the bulk of our trip in Krabi Province.

In hindsight, an extra day and night in Bangkok would have been fun as it is a fascinating place. In any case, here are a few of the snaps I took during our brief city excursion in this hot, rainy and dirty (but very interesting) city.

With this batch, I have experimented a bit more with post-processing, which I have tended to steer away from in the past. It would be great to hear your thoughts on the end result.
